  1. Q: How should I prepare for my first visit?

A: We recommend that you have something to eat before treatment. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows access above the elbows and knees. Avoid strenuous physical activity a couple of hours before and after treatment. Patients are supposed to relax during treatment. To be considerate of others and to maintain a calm, serene environment, we ask that you turn off or silence your phone as it can be a disruptive during “needle nap” time.

  3. Q: What does acupuncture feel like? Does it hurt?

A: The acupuncture needles may produce a unique sensation which patients describe as heavy, tingly, numbness pressure, and traveling feeling which is temporary.
The acupuncture needles are very fine, hair-like needles that you can barely feel when inserted. It is virtually painless. For some, it may feel like a gentle mosquito bite. Patients very rarely report feeling any pain after a needle is inserted. If there is any slight pain, the needle can be quickly removed.
