Acupuncture for Pain
Acupuncture is a natural and effective approach to treating chronic pain such as pain in the back, knee, foot, leg, neck and shoulder; chronic headaches; menstrual; sinus; and degenerative disease such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel, sciatica, tennis and golf elbow, and frozen shoulders. Our patients experience remarkable success with this type of TCM treatment. We are here to help heal your body naturally, safely, and effectively.
Acupuncture for Neurological Disorders
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is an effective therapy combination at relieving pain associated with neurological conditions since it stimulates the brain to release neurotransmitters and opioids into the body which help normalize the nervous system. Some common neurological disorders we treat with acupuncture include: Bell’s Palsy; facial spasm and pain; stroke recovery; and headaches such as tension headaches, migraines, and stress-related headaches.
Acupuncture for Emotional Health
Many of us are on default mode when trying to get through the hustle and bustle of everyday life which can create a negative impact on our emotional well-being. Acupuncture can effectively enhance and alleviate negative emotional conditions such as anxiety, stress, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, eating disorders, and insomnia which can be associated with emotional disorders.
Over a quarter of the population in the United States is obese and sadly, over 50% of dietary products don’t work.
So, what about Acupuncture for Weight Loss?
It is believed that an imbalance in the organ systems of the body mainly contributes to essive weight gain. Therefore, attention is focused on the specific areas of the body to affect weight loss, such as the endocrine system and kidneys to treat water retention and to stimulate nerve and hormonal rebalance. The spleen and thyroid glands affect sugar and hormonal rebalancing. The adrenal and ovary glands are included to treat weight gain due to menopause and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Acupuncture needles inserted into strategic trigger points in the body can help increase metabolism, suppress appetite, and burn fat. Acupuncture needles also stimulate the nerves under the skin which signals the brain and nervous system affecting appetite, thus causing the individual to eat less and lose weight.
Acupuncture needles are inserted into specific energy pathways (body points) that help stimulate the release of endorphins, the body’s natural “feel good” hormones. This helps to create a calming, relaxing effect which can counteract the need or feeling to binge-eat that is brought on by increased frustration, stress, and anxiety. In this respect, acupuncture helps bring calmness to those who are very afflicted and help them lose weight without resorting to synthetic drugs; drugs which can have a host of negative side-effects.
The outer ear has a connection to the entire body. The stimulation of different points of the ear with acupuncture needles affects certain areas of the body. The Hunger point, which is one of the five points, is linked to hunger and appetite. 4 other points on the ear are also utilized. Combining auricular acupuncture with standard acupuncture helps improve the weight loss process. NADA can be used for continuous stimulation to help control hunger and appetite.
The effect and length of treatment varies depending on the level of negative effect on the organ systems of the body, a person’s diet, a person’s lifestyle, and the degree of imbalance. Some patients notice changes in as little as 2-3 session. Others with higher degrees of imbalance may take longer. Moderate walking or swimming for at least 20 minutes a day, along with a low-calorie diet can help enhance the process.
